Excessive heat warning for Lincoln

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for Nebraska until Tuesday morning.

Heat indices are expected to range from 105 to 112 degrees each day.  Overnight heat indices are expected to reach around 80 degrees.  The National Weather Service says no relief from high heat indices increases the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

We placed a thermometer the pavement outside the Channel 8 studio Friday morning.  By 11:30 a.m., it reached well over 120 degrees F.  The thermometer looked like it read -60 F.
