Expanded parking options for Garth Brooks concerts

(OMAHA, Neb.) – The Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority (MECA) announced today that expanded parking options are available for the Garth Brooks concerts at CenturyLink Center Omaha on Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th.
Back-to-back Garth Brooks concerts will cause increased traffic in the downtown area. Fans are strongly encouraged to arrive early and to plan ahead for venue entry.
Security pre-screening will take place beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the convention center and arena doors will open promptly at 5:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show. Doors for the 10:30 p.m. shows are expected to open at 10 p.m. but may be delayed.
Tickets will be accepted at all entrances however those fans with paperless and main floor tickets should enter along 10th street. Extra seating and food, beverage and merchandise sales will be available in the convention center for those waiting to enter the arena. **There is no opening act for these shows.
MECA parking lots B, C, D, and G will be available for public parking. Parking is $8. Cash payment and the following credit cards are now accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. MECA parking lots will open at 4 p.m. Friday, May 8th and at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9th. **Please note that parking lots will be closed Friday and Saturday evening from 9:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. to allow for exit-only traffic. Parking Lots are expected to re-open at 10:15 p.m. Fans attending the 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday evening shows are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the following alternate parking options.
Midtown Crossing will be operating a free shuttle on Friday and Saturday evenings from 6:00 p.m. until one hour after the last show to accommodate the extra traffic expected. Fans can park their cars at Midtown Crossing and will be dropped off and picked up near the corner of 10th and Capitol. A number of other parking options are also available within walking distance of the venue. The City of Omaha has nearby surface lots and parking garages that will stay open late on Friday and Saturday evening to accommodate concertgoers.
In addition, Creighton University offers parking in selected lots between 14th and 17th streets south of Cuming Street. These lots are monitored and a fee is charged.
