Family Of A Woman Who Froze To Death Files Wrongful Death Suit

The family of an elderly Lincoln woman, who froze to death after being locked out of her retirement home, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit. Lincoln police say 69-year-old Barbara Rhodes died at the Brentwood Estates complex, the morning of February fifth. The lawsuit claims the retirement home's negligence caused the woman's death. She was trapped in a stairwell by two retaining walls and a mound of snow covering the stairs.  Brentwood facilities manager says the company is deeply saddened by her death, and is doing an internal investigation.
