Fatal Thanksgiving Night Accident

One person is dead after a two-car collision Thursday night on Highway 77 just south of Lincoln. Sheriff Deputies say the accident happened when a silver Buick tried to cross 77 and was T-boned by a truck heading north. The deputies say it appears the driver of the Buick failed to stop or yield the right of way.

The driver of the truck was transported to Lincoln by ambulance, the driver of the Buick, Dorothy Schnizel of Sutton, was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the truck is said to have non-life threatening injuries.

Highway 77 Northbound was shut down for about an hour while the crash was being investigated.
