Federal Appeals Court Rejects Request for Re-hearing Lawsuit

A Federal Appeals Court has rejected Nebraska's request, for a re-hearing in the low-level nuclear waste lawsuit. Nebraska requested the full eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to hear the case again, after a three-judge panel ruled against the state in February.

Now, the state's last option is to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. The state was ordered to pay 151-million dollars for blocking construction of a nuclear waste dump, that was to hold waste from Nebraska, and four other states.
