Firefighters Travel to New York City
The one year anniversary of the September 11th attacks is fast approaching and many are making the trip to New York to remember the victims. One special group is also making the trek, and made a stop in York, Nebraska along the way.
Every year over 100 firefighters from across the country take part in “A Ride to Remember”. The mission every year is to bring firefighters together in a show of solidarity, to honor those killed in the line of duty. But this year the trip took on a different meaning and so did the destination.
The trip started in California and even more bikes are expected to join the ride to New York city, including five Lincoln firefighters. Also “A Ride to Remember” will stop in Lincoln before going back to Colorado. Firefighters will ride their motorcycles from the fairgrounds to the Capitol on the evening of September 16th at 6:45.
