Five men arrested in string of thefts

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says five men have been arrested in a string of burglaries that occurred over the last few months.

The thefts happened in Lincoln, Lancaster County and Cass County. In several cases, thousands of dollars in items like snow plows, lawn mowers and other vehicles were taken. 

Deputies arrested 32-year-old William Howell for theft by receiving stolen property. 39-year-old Jason Bonebright was arrested for theft by receiving stolen property. 40-year-old Jeffrey Hauser and 42-year-old Christopher Wulbern were arrested for burglary and theft by receiving stolen property. 43-year-old Joel Schrader was arrested for theft by receiving stolen property.

Deputies made some of the arrests after serving search warrants. The latest was Tuesday.

“We recovered a truck, lawn mower, ATV, wood splitter, those kinds of items that were stolen in several burglaries we have been investigating,” Sheriff Terry Wagner said.

Authorities are working to recover more stolen property. They continue to investigate.
