Flash Flooding Strikes Lincoln

Flash flooding is hitting Lincoln tonight.   The driver of an SUV had to be rescued after he became stranded in a flooded creek near 56th and Arbor Road.    The driver was o-k but you should avoid trying to drive through flood waters.   

Widespread flooding also hit numerous businesses along North 56th Street.   Several inches of rain fell in Lincoln as numerous thunderstorms moved through the area.    There are also reports of flooding near 27th and Superior and near the Abbott Sports Complex on North 70th street. 

A business near 16th and Cornhusker was struck by lightning and caught fire.   As firefighters responded to the fire, tennis-ball sized hail started falling.   Widespread hail damages is being reported in North Lincoln.
