Former OPPD employee accused of stealing copper
An Omaha man who worked for Omaha Public Power District is accused of stealing thousands of pounds of copper and aluminum from the company.
Court documents say 51-year-old Stanley Mac took around 3,200 pounds of copper and aluminum worth $14,000 from Omaha Public Power District when he was an employee.
Records say Mac has been charged with felony theft. Authorities say OPPD helped Douglas County sheriff's investigators set up a sting operation to catch Mac. OPPD says Mac no longer works for the district. Court records say Mac is due back in court on Dec. 8. He's free on $2,500 bond, which is 10 percent of his $25,000 bail.
