Former Peru State College Student Dies Fighting In Afghanistan

Military officials have confirmed a former Peru State College student has been killed fighting in Afghanistan.

They say 25–year–old Sergeant James Skalberg Junior is among two US Army soldiers killed in an attack in Afghanistan.

Military officials say he died on Wednesday when his vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device.

Skalberg attended Peru State College.

He joined the army in 2007.

His wife, Jessica says he was a “loving, good-hearted man”.

He leaves behind his wife and son, Carter of Red Oak, Iowa.
