Fundraiser For Boy Who Isn’t Growing

Some hope tonight for a Lincoln baby with a mysterious medical condition.

A fundraiser was held for Carter Hertzel, the sweet little 14–month–old boy who isn't growing!

Friends and community supporters came out to the Plamor ballroom to raise money for the family so they can afford to take him to the National Institute of Health in Maryland.

Doctors there will work to diagnose him.  Carter's Mom, Angie says, “the one thing all the doctors agree is that Carter is very sick, and they think it's genetic. But they don't have the tools or the tests, the capability to sequence his entire DNA. NIH can do that for him.”

Carter will be admitted to the hospital in Maryland on October first.  His family hopes to raise at least six thousand dollars to help with the expenses.
