Residents here in Lincoln felt the after shock of a 5.6 earthquake in Oklahoma. Geologist say there are three possible causes of the quake.
Fracking is a process of drilling down into the earth before a high–pressure water mixture is directed at the rock to release the gas inside.
Bill Sydow, oil and gas commission says,  "Fracture stimulation is safe. It has been used for decades. The fluids are absolutely benign, and they are of low toxicity."
There are a couple of fault lines buried in the north part of Oklahoma.
One of them runs on the side of Nebraska.
As you can see on this map there are just a few lines in our state.
The Oklahoma commission responded to this incident by shutting down 35 wells.
It will be shut down for at least 10 Days.
