Gering schools back to normal after lockdown
GERING, Neb. (AP) – Two schools in Gering are back to normal following a lockdown after a report of a young man with a gun.
Police say Gering High School and Lincoln Elementary were placed on lockdown for about 45 minutes Monday afternoon. Police say a female student reported seeing a young man walking near some tennis courts at the high school. Officials say the man was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a weapon, possibly a rifle, sticking out the top of the sweatshirt.
Police searched the area but didn't find anyone.
