Going the ‘Extra Mile’

A man is trekking across the U.S. for a unique cause and Tuesday he was in Lincoln.

Shawn Anderson is hoping to make a difference one pedal at a time, biking from San Francisco to Boston.  But he's more than just a cyclist, his mission is to inspire people to go the 'extra mile'.

He says at a time when Americans are feeling burden by the economy, it's up to individuals to go the extra mile and to make a difference in peoples lives.

He says he's already seen Nebraskans take that extra step on his tour.  “We were just outside of Trenton, 15 minutes after closing time for this store.  We had nowhere to go.  There were no restaurants in town and this woman says 'you need in here?' and let us into the store.  It's just the Nebraska hometown things they do, they go the extra mile all the time.”

If you know someone who has gone the extra mile, you can submit their story at his website, www.extramileamerica.com

He'll pick 10 inspiring stories and one will win $1,000.
