Today, the Governor highlighted state employee charitable giving. This year is the most they ever given. More than 4,000 employees have pledged a little over half a million dollars. These donations support organizations such as United Way, the Food Bank, & Girl Scouts.

“Since 2003, state employees have donated more than $4.6 million dollars to support more than 400 charitable organizations throughout Nebraska,” says Gov. Heineman.

The theme for this year’s campaign was “Serving the Public Beyond the Job.” This is to show the deeper sense of service to others that those in public service believe in.
