Haymarket businesses reopen after pipe burst

Businesses in a Haymarket building that were flooded from a pipe burst two weeks ago have reopened.

Two weeks ago, a partial roof collapse on the Huber building at 8th & Q caused a pipe to burst inside the Haymarket Theatre.  One of the businesses below suffered water damage.

Wednesday, the From Nebraska Gift Store reopened to customers.  The owner and employees had to wait a week before they were allowed into the building after the incident.  They've spent the last week assessing damaged merchandise.

Now, owner Connie Mahaney hopes to get back on track offering items made exclusively in Nebraska.

In the meantime, Licorice International next door has reopened.  Inside the Haymarket Theatre on the second floor, workers continue repairing the damage.

No one was injured in the incident that happened Thursday, July 29th.
