It was a chocolate lover’s fantasy at pinnacle bank arena Friday night, where the Historic Haymarket hosted its 30th annual chocolate lovers fantasy.

Twenty vendors came to share their creations.

People were able to come try everything from 80s themed chocolate covered strawberries doused with pop rocks, to beer infused chocolate cupcakes and dessert sushi.

“We try to pay homage to the candy making days in the Haymarket with Russell Stover and the other candy companies,” event coordinator Diane Cunningham said. “Chocolate lovers fantasy started because of that history.”

The fundraiser raises money for the Historic Haymarket corporation to promote and enhance the programs they put on throughout the year.

Last year they raised $18,000, and Friday they hoped to reach $20,000.

Chocolate fans flocked in to try all the creations.

“We have a couple friends who had never been before,” Lisa Schaefers of Lincoln said. “I have a couple of times and [my husband has] been once so he got off early so he was able to go.”

Vendors made all sorts of creations. Dallas McGee and his group from the City of Lincoln created a Rocky Horror Picture Show inspired treat.

“Rocky whip started off as a mousse,” he said. “Then we added a few things to make it unique to Rocky Horror chocolate show so its very unique piece of dessert but very tasty.”

There was also a Japanese–inspired chocolate, orange chocolate macaroons, s’mores inspired treats and so much more.

There was also a silent auction for people to bid on.
