Health Department Prepares For Mosquito Season

Mosquitos are already starting to bite all around the Capitol City, and the Health Department is gearing up for another season of West Nile virus. The Health Department says this week they have been bombarded with calls complaining of pesky mosquitos. They have already started trapping mosquitoes as of Monday night, but right now all they are catching is the harmless variety. But in a few months when it get's hot and dry, they expect to see Kelox mosquitos, which carry the West Nile virus. Then the will begin spraying. The Health Department is monitoring the mosquito situation closely, because 129 people in Lancaster County contracted the west Nile virus last year.
