When’s the last time you had your heart checked? Saturday might be your day.
February is American Heart Awareness month. CHI Health St. Elizabeth and Nebraska Heart are offering a free event to the public. There will be free screenings and a heart healthy lunch. Heart disease is the number one killer of men and women, so it’s good to think about ways to keep your heart healthy.
“Walk as much as you can, park further away from the door, go up stairs instead of elevators; there’s even some exercises you can do at your desk,” says Dr. Rebecca Rundlett of Nebraska Heart Institute.
The event is this Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth. Again, there will be free screenings, speakers and a heart healthy lunch. It’s open to the public.
