High School Graduation Rate in Nebraska Among Country’s Best

A recent Harvard study shows Nebraska has among the best high school graduation rates in the country. However, there's a huge gap between the graduation rates of white and minority students.

The study shows fewer than half of Nebraska's Black, Hispanic, and Native American students graduate in four years. While 82 percent of white students graduate, only about 47 percent of Hispanics got their diploma, 45 percent for African American, and only 32 percent of Native Americans graduated.

To stop the trend, LPS says they have counselors through a Federal grant specifically to work with families on attendance issues and social issues.
