Hispanic Center Will Offer Free Legal Advice
Help is on the way for a growing segment of our population that can not find legal advice. Lincoln's Hispanic population has doubled in the past six years. The result some say is inadequate legal representation. So Lincoln's Hispanic Center is working with the Nebraska and Lincoln Bar Associations, and Nebraska Advocacy Services.
This week 16-spanish speaking translators are being trained for the legal field. Then starting next month.. Legal consultations will be available at the Hispanic Center free of charge. The first consultation is free to anyone who can't speak English or can't otherwise afford legal representation. Then if additional legal services are needed fees will be based on individual incomes. If you would like more information or to find out how you can get free legal help call the Hispanic Center at 474-3950.
