Homeless Need Better Health Care
Mayor Coleen Seng says the homeless here in Lincoln are struggling for proper health care. On Thursday, Mayor Seng appointed a special task force last spring to help solve the problem. They released seven ideas to help the estimated 16-hundred homeless.
Here's a few of the ideas that the task force came up with to help our homeless. They want to look for local and federal funding, develop a case management network, and provide more preventative care. Members of the task force say healthcare often falls far behind finding food and shelter for the homeless.
