Hospitals See Record Number of Patients In ER
Local hospitals are seeing a record number of patients in their emergency room. Just last Sunday more than one-hundred people walked through the ER doors at Bryan LGH East.
Many hospitals are in the middle of million-dollar construction projects to help ease emergency room overcrowding. Bryan hospital has also received a grant to help. Hospitals have a hefty task of trying predict how many patients they will have come in to schedule staff. Doctors say they see a wide variety of illnesses here. They try to treat the most serious first.
There's no typical day. But there are options besides the ER. At Bryan LGH East they have what's called a nurse on call. That number is 481-5500.
