Husker Baseball Opens Season 2 and 1
Round Rock, Texas-The Nebraska baseball team opened up their 2003 campaign with 2 wins and 1 loss this past weekend. Sophomore first baseman Curtis Ledbetter led the Husker offense with 2 home runs in Friday's season opening win against Southwest Texas. He finished the weekend 5 for 12, with 5 runs scored, 4 RBI, 2 stolen bases and the 2 homers. Brian Duensing gave up 2 hits through six innings on Saturday as he turned in the Husker's best pitching performance of the weekend. Nebraska lost 8 to 7 on Sunday against California when the Bears broke up a 7-7 tie in the bottom of the 9th. Nebraska has a three game series this coming weekend against Louisiana Tech.
