Husker Have “Bear” of a Time

(Lincoln-AP) — Joe Simokaitis hit a two-run single with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to complete Nebraska's rally for a four-to-three victory over Northern Colorado Tuesday Night. The Cornhuskers entered the ninth inning down three-to-one. But Curtis Ledbetter led off the ninth with a walk and Jake Mullinax followed with a single. Ledbetter later scored on a fielding error. After John Grose was intentionally walked, Simokaitis delivered the game-winning hit. Dustin Timm picked up the win after pitching two scoreless innings in relief of starter Jon Klausing. Craig Ayers took the loss after giving up four runs on four hits in eight and a third innings.
