Husker Niles Paul cited for MIP over weekend

A Husker football player got in trouble with Lincoln police this weekend.  LPD says wide receiver Niles Paul was caught urinating in public near Centennial mall in downtown Lincoln Friday morning.

When the officer approached Paul, he turned around as he was zipping up his pants.  “The officer stopped to talk with him about urinating in public and noticed he had blood shot watery eyes and an obvious smell of alcoholic beverage on his person,” Officer Katie Flood said.

Paul who is only 20 years old was cited for minor in possession by consumption and urinating in public.

Head Coach Bo Pelini has issued the following statement about the matter: “I have met with Niles Paul about the matter. It has been addressed and handled internally.”
