Husker star Sam Hoiberg and Muchachos partner for new sandwich
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Sam Hoiberg has captured Husker Nation with his play on the court for Nebraska men’s basketball this season. Now, he’s hoping to keep their attention at lunch time.
The Husker hoops star has partnered with a popular local restaurant for a new sandwich.
Muchachos owner Nick Maestas announced the release of the “Hoibergler” on social media Wednesday.
“This sandwich will steal your heart faster than he (Hoiberg) creates Iowa hoops’ turnovers,” wrote Maestas in a post on X.
Maestas said the sandwich will be “a toasted bolillo from Pan Dulce, with hatch chile bbq, piled high with pulled pork, queso and fried onion.”
Hoiberg was just named a finalist for the Nolan Richardson national player of the year, which recognizes the player who is the heart and soul of his team and a leader on and off the court.
