Huskers announce Week One starters, depth chart

LINCOLN – Nebraska has announced its 2019 football depth chart ahead of its home opener with South Alabama.

Freshmen fill 20 spots on the initial two-deep as the Huskers begin Year Two under Scott Frost.

At running back, newcomer Dedrick Mills is listed as co-starter with sophomore Maurice Washington, whose status for the opener is still unknown due to pending legal matters in California.

Among first year starters, Omaha Skutt grad and former walk-on Trent Hixson takes the top spot at left guard, Beatrice native Cam Jurgens fills the starting center position, and grad transfer Kanawai Noa shares a top spot at wide receiver with Mike Williams.

On defense, sophomore Caleb Tannor has locked down a top spot at outside linebacker with JoJo Domann. Grad transfer Darrion Daniels, named a captain Saturday, will start at nose guard with Deontai Williams and Marquel Dismuke sliding into the open spots at safety.
