Lincoln, NE-On Saturday, the Nebraska Cornhuskers lost to the Texas Longhorns in a nail-biting 27 to 24 contest.  The loss snapped the Huskers 26 game home winning streak which was previously the longest in the nation.  Nebraska's last loss at home occurred versus Texas in 1998.  Texas led 6 to 3 at the half.  Then the fireworks began.  Chris Simms threw 2 third quarter touchdown passes to Roy Williams to give Texas a 20-10 advantage.  But the resilent Huskers answered back when Jammal Lord threw a touchdown pass to Matt Herian.  The Longhorns would go up 27 to 17 but Nebraska rallied once again to close the gap to 27 to 24.  But unfortuantely for the Huskers their comeback would fall short when Jammal Lord threw an interception near the Texas goal line with time winding down.  Nebraska hosts Kansas this Saturday at 12:30pm.
