Huskers’ Petteway Dealing with Mother’s Illness

LINCOLN – Terran Petteway addressed media members Friday to explain his basketball frustrations.

He said it wasn’t an NBA future worrying him, but the health of his mother Joetta Petteway who is battling cancer.

Petteway’s mother is in a fight with follicular dendritic cell sarcoma, a form of cancer in her knee.

Head coach Tim Miles and Petteway had a discussion Wednesday, when the junior forward decided he needed to approach his team to reveal the update on his mother’s condition – news some players had not heard yet.

The Huskers next play Sunday on the road at Purdue. Tipoff is at 4:21 p.m. on BTN.
