Huskers Prepare For Utah State

Lincoln–The Husker football team practiced for two hours on Tuesday as it continued preperations for its September 7th showdown with Utah State.  “Today's practice went okay,” said head coach Frank Solich.  “They were a little slugish out there.  I think our two physical games and the hot weather is taking its toll, but the effort was there.”

Earlier in the day, the Huskers held their weekly media day.  One of the topics of conversation was I-back Thunder Collins who was suspended and sat out of the Huskers 31-16 win over Troy State.  Coach Solich opened his portion of the press conference with this statement: “There really is, at this point, no update on Thunder Collins.  On our end of it we would like to get the matter cleared up as quickly as possible.  We've been pushing to get that done.  We hope that in a very short period of time we'll be able to clear some issues up and be able to move forward. Certainly for the team's sake and Thunder's sake all of this needs to be handled as quickly and efficiently as possible and we're working to do that.”
