Huskers Sweep Bears

(Lincoln-AP) — Alex Gordon and Curtis Ledbetter each hit home runs and combined for seven RBI Wednesday in Lincoln to lead Nebraska over Northern Colorado 13-to-seven.

Nebraska took the lead in the third inning, getting three runs, including ledbetter's sixth home run of the season. Ledbetter went three-for-four with three RBI.

Gordon went two-for-four, getting his 15th home run of the season and drove in four runs. He also scored three times.

Left-hander Brad Furnish took the win for the Huskers, allowing just one hit in five innings and matching his career high with seven strikeouts.

U-N-C saw a pair of two-run home runs from John Ray and Ty Tartler. Craig Troxell also had a pair of hits and scored twice for UNC. Nebraska is now 29-and-12 on the season.
