Huskers Win Alamo Bowl

Jammal Lord threw for a career-best 160 yards and ran for 79 more to lead the Cornhuskers to a 17-to-3 win over Michigan State in the Alamo Bowl. The win was the Cornhuskers' second in the Alamo Bowl in four years. The victory caps a season in which Coach Frank Solich was fired after finishing the regular season with a nine-and-three record. While accepting the winner's trophy, Bo Pelini said he felt the team showed the world what Nebraska football is all about.
