Jefferson Co. couple arrested for making meth

The Jefferson County Sheriff's office made the arrests Saturday night just west of Fairbury.

The sheriff's office says 35-year-old Keith Jackson and 31-year-old Jennifer Brooks are each charged with 6 counts relating to manufacturing meth.  The arrests came after a call that their car was stuck in a field.  Deputies say when they arrived, they smelled a strong odor of anhydrous ammonia and discovered a meth lab in the vehicle.

Methamphetamine lab protocol was initiated at that time and agencies including Fairbury Rural Fire, Jefferson County Ambulance District #33 and Jefferson County Emergency Management were called to the scene to assist with the clean-up of the meth lab.

Both subjects were taken into custody and charged with Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Possession of Ephedrine with the Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia with the Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Unlawful Transportation of Anhydrous Ammonia, Unlawful use of Certain Containers, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and the male subject was also charged with 3rd Degree Domestic Assault.
