Johnson named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

Senior forward Jaycie Johnson earned Big Ten Offensive Player-of-the-Week honors from the conference on Tuesday.Johnson scored four goals over the weekend during Nebraska’s trip to Ohio State and No. 16 Penn State. The Lake Winnebago, Mo., native recorded her second career hat trick in the Huskers’ 3-0 win against the Buckeyes on Friday night. Johnson scored NU’s lone goal in a 2-1 loss to the Nittany Lions on Sunday afternoon.Johnson leads the Huskers with eight goals this season, all of which she has scored in the last seven games after being held scoreless in her first five games of the 2016 campaign. Johnson also has two assists in 12 appearances this season. Johnson has 39 career goals, which ranks eighth in program history.
