Former Husker first baseman Dan Johnson was selected for the Triple-A Homerun Derby. The announcement was made Monday via the Charlotte Knights Twitter account.

Johnson, who currently plays for the Triple-A farmhand of the Chicago White Sox is hitting .284 with 20 homers on the season.

While at Nebraska, Johnson set a school record by hitting 25 homeruns in 2001 en route to Nebraska's first College World Series appearance. That record still stands.

Johnson has some experience hitting the long ball. He won the Derby in 2010.
