Johnson-Brock wins Class D2 football championship

Johnson-Brock rallied from a 20-0 deficit in the first quarter to knock off Mullen, 56-26, in the Class D2 title game on Monday.

The Eagles ended the game on a 56-6 run after falling into that early hole.

“I don’t think I can find the words to say it but the looks on their faces and those smiles that they get and our community, and all the fans that have been there for them through everything,” Eagles coach Mitch Roberts said. “You know that says it all and those guys, I don’t know a more deserving group than the group we have right now. It’s pretty indescribable, but with our group nothing surprises me.”

It’s the Eagles first state championship in football in school history.
