Thousands flocked to Trago Park today to celebrate the end of slavery.
For over 30 years, the Malone Community Center has sponsored Juneteenth, which is the oldest known celebration of the ending of slavery.
It commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement.
Pastor Kevin Bringle, “this is a blast, I just wanted to come out here and support the community and just be a part of it and check out how Juneteenth is being celebrated.”
The 2 day festival features live entertainment, a historic display, food and even a children's corner with plenty of activities to keep the kids busy.
It is free and open to the public.
