Jury Selection for Murder Suspect Jose Sandoval Delayed Two Hours

Jury selection for the trial of Norfolk Bank slaying suspect Jose Sandoval was delayed for about two hours Friday morning, in an unusual turn of events in Hall County Court.

But it went on without Sandoval. Officials say he refused to leave his jail cell Friday morning, saying he was sick, and blaming his illness on the conditions at the prison. Hall County deputies and jail employees testified that Sandoval also claimed he would assault someone once a day until he is moved back to the Tecumseh prison.

Jury Selection should be complete Friday night and the trial will begin Monday in Aurora, Nebraska.
