Levee breach sparks flash flood warnings

At 2:15 Friday morning, local law enforcement reported a levee failure on the Missouri side of the Missouri River just 3 miles north of Brownville, Nebraska.  The National Weather Service says the river state at Brownville fell 1 1/2 ft, which indicated water was spilling into a nearby floodplain.  It is believed West of I-29.

A flash flood warning has been issued for Atchison County in Missouri.  While towns in Southeast Nebraska are not under a flash flood warning, residents remaining after the flood evacuation are urged to get to higher ground.  More information will be released following daybreak.
