A Lincoln woman tells us she's in shock after lightning struck her home. During Monday night's powerful severe weather, lightning struck Dee Mathiesen's home near north 6th and Adams. Inspectors say the bolt hit the gutter and traveled through the home.

The lightning charred the interior frame of the home leaving $50,000 in damages. Dee was inside when it happened.

“Sparks flew, lights went out the tv went out. It was just a shock it really scared us. We jumped up from the table and immediately I thought I heard water running and it was already smoke and fire,” Mathiesen said.

The fire department says the quick 911 call saved the rest of the house. No one was injured but it may take months to repair the damage.
