Lincoln Celebrates Earth Day

It's earth day and hundreds in Lincoln were out learning how to live a little greener.

This event out at Antelope park was one of several around the city today.

The Earth Day Coalition and Cleaner, Greener Lincoln put it together, offering more than 80 exhibits each highlighting solutions to the greener lifestyle, as well as a lot of fun activities.

Emily McKeone, with Earth Day Coalition says, “the city itself is really taking a strong lead in making Lincoln a green capitol of Nebraska of the great plains. I think we're really trying to take a lead role making sustainability easy and simple and incorporating these principles into our lives.”

Organizers of the earth day event say the best way to get others on board is to lead by example.  So may have seen many of them out riding bikes today and picking up fresh produce at the stands.
