Lincoln Day Shelter Closing Doors

DayWatch is closing it's doors to the homeless. The shelter's board of directors made that decision Thursday night. The say Nebraska's only day shelter has been under-funded for the past 15 years they've been open.

DayWatch provided the homeless with basic needs like showers, laundry, medical services and a place to pick up mail. One board member says they've made arrangements with some other organizations in the community for their clients, but it means a lot of them will be out on the streets looking for help in other places.

DayWatch's doors will officially close on June 30th. The People's City Mission is offering the use of their shelter for anyone who needs services DayWatch provided.
