A two-alarm house fire broke out Thursday afternoon in Lincoln.

Smoke filled the home at 37th and Apple around three o’clock.

It took crews more than an hour to get everything under control because the fire spread so quickly.

They had to fight from the outside because it became too hot and dangerous inside the home.

Fire Chief Scott Bastin says, “We had fire probably on the second floor, and we couldn’t make entry into the house because it was unsafe to do so with the firefighters, it was getting very very hot inside which meant that the fire could have been anywhere.”

They’re still investigating the cause of the fire.

The house is considered a complete loss.

No one was hurt.

The Red Cross is helping the family.
