Lincoln Gets Ready For Flu Vaccines

Local doctors offices and pharmacies are preparing for the high demand of flu vaccines. Last year, there was a shortage of the flu vaccine, which protects against 3 types of influenza strains, but this year that doesn't seem to be the case. This year, miillions of Americans will get the flu, but those most at risk and who should consider getting vaccinated include people over 65 years old are: children between 6 and 23 months and anyone with respiratory problems or other illnesses. Local Doctor's offices and pharmacy's including the Hy-Vee pharmacy will be offering the flu shot to the community. The bird flu that is currently in some Asian countries that is becoming a scare in the United State, one should take note that the vaccine they're giving out this year does not protect against this strain.
