Prince Amukamara gave a Lincoln high school team a special donation Tuesday morning.

Amukamara surprised the Lincoln High football team with $10,000 in gear.  He hopes it's just what they need to have a winning season.

New cleats and workout gear.. that's what former Husker and current New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara gave to the varsity football team at Lincoln High.

“I think it'll spark us up have, I dunno, a little fire in us,”  says LHS receiver Dean Christensen.

Amukamara wanted to help a Lincoln school because the community helped him so much when he was here.  He picked Lincoln High because the school not only touched his heart, he felt they needed it most.

“When I was a kid back in Arizona, I never really had been given anything and I just thought it would be it'd just be great to give them something just so it can help spark their season this year,” says Amukamara.

Amukamara says he hopes his donation will help encourage the teens to get through the tough times.

“Being in high school isn't the easiest job so any little bit of motivation to do better whether it be on the field or in the classroom just any little bit of help.”

“I think it will give us some motivation to do better…to know someone wants us to do good,” says LHS quarterback Payton Helmstadter.
