Lincoln homes damaged by illegal fireworks

An illegal firework caused quite a bit of damage to some central Lincoln homes over the weekend. Officer Katie Flood says on Saturday just before 2 am two residents in two Lincoln homes on Elmwood street heard a loud bang. Then they felt the interior walls of their homes shaking.

Flood says they went outside and found a firework in one of the homes front yard. But it did more than just shake them up. “Damage is estimated at least 600 dollars for three broken windows, damage to their landscaping and landscaping bricks,” Flood said.

Fire inspector Damon Robins says it was an illegal firework. Similar to an M–1000 that caused the damage. Police have no suspects.
