A first of it's kind arts program was announced Thursday night in Lincoln.

It's called the Community Supported Arts Initiative. Nine artists were selected to put together 50 pieces. They'll be given to shareholders who bought 50 shares for $300 each.

Supporters and artists gathered Thursday at Union Bank, which is a big sponsor of the program.

“Our primary goal is to support artists visual performing and literary in the creation of new work and establish relationships with local patrons while participating in an exciting new model of arts support and distribution,” Deb Weber with the Lincoln Arts Council said.

Artworks included everything from hand woven baskets to an origami portrait.
