Lincoln man arrested for U-Haul theft and arson

A Crimestoppers tip has led to the arrest of a Lincoln man in the theft and arson of a Uhaul truck. The truck was being used by an Idaho family who was in the process of moving to Lincoln.

They were staying at a motel, when someone took the truck, took items from it, and set it on fire.

Police say 41 year old Kevin Hershman suffered severe burns to his chest. He was in the St. Elizabeth's burn unit and told them his lawn mower had caught on fire.  Police say he even set his lawn mower on fire.

Police also found some of the stolen items in Hershman's storage unit.  He was arrest for theft by unlawful taking and 2nd degree Arson.
