Lincoln Man Charged In Daughter’s Death Appears in Court
A Lincoln man accused in the death of his two month old daughter appeared in court Tuesday. Terrell Henderson was arrested and charged last month. 2-month old Iycis Henderson was found unresponsive in her father's home last December. Terrell Henderson told police he was feeding her a bottle when she started to cough. Court papers released last month show Iycis died of blunt force trauma to the head and torso.
Tuesday, Terrell Henderson appeared before a judge for his preliminary hearing. The state believes the main evidence to bound Terrell to district court is that he was the sole provider for Iycis from 11 PM until the 9-11 call the night of her death. But the defense believes this case relies entirely on the opinion of experts, which they felt was not shown. Terrell's mother, Andrea says her son is not responsible for her death. Andrea says Terrell and Jessica are still together and are expecting another child in January. The judge felt there was enough evidence to move Terrell case to district courtroom October 2nd.
